Another event for the Easter Weekend is the Easter Eggstravaganza, celebrating the end of winter, the arrival of spring, and more importantly the start of the new skating season, (although for some of us the skating season really stops to allow us to get drunk over Christmas, and hibernate for a few of the coldest weeks at the start of the year). The weekend starts off at 7pm on Friday 21st March with The Long Good Friday Night Skate, which is a longer than normal London Friday Night Skate. After a loop of Hyde Park, at 8.00pm the skate goes off on a 15 – 18 mile tour of the UK’s Capital. The skate is billed as being:
For intermediate and advanced skaters.
This means that participants should be able to cope with going up and down hills (therefore being able to stop effectively), also confident with turns, curbs and bad surfaces. If you’ve never done a street skate before try the loop of the park and see how you get on.
